Reef Lagoon was founded by Zac Schmidt, whose life has long been shaped by a deep connection to the ocean. Growing up in Indonesia, Zac was immersed in a world defined by island life, surfing, diving, and a constant curiosity for what lay beneath the surface. That early connection evolved into something more serious in Australia, where he studied marine science and spent countless hours in and around the water, particularly through spearfishing and exploring the Great Barrier Reef. Through both science and lived experience, he developed a lasting respect for marine ecosystems and a strong appreciation for the form, detail, and individuality of the species that inhabit them. Reef Lagoon was built from that foundation — not simply as a clothing label, but as a way of expressing a genuine ocean lifestyle shaped by adventure, understanding, and time spent where he feels most at home.
